This is a fabulous Post Medieval silver signet ring. The bezel is deeply engraved with an initial of I.C. in the Lombardic script. Above and below are ornamental knot decoration and the circumference is dotted. Decoration of scrolled tendrils to the underside of the bezel.
This is a large and heavy ring, likely worn over a glove; as was the fashion. Such a ring would have been a costly and important jewel owned by a wealthy Merchant as a means of authenticating transactions and letters.
