9TH-11TH CENTURY AD – NORTHERN EUROPE
Early medieval gold viking ring with knot. A round-section gold hoop joined together with a knot at the back of the hoop.
Gold rings were not common in the Viking period, and this must have represented a very expensive piece of jewellery.
