Medieval lead Vesica-shaped Seal pendant Matrix of Roger, Son of Galfridus
Legend: + S’ ROGERI FIL ‘GALF’
The Seal of Roger, son of Galfridus (Geoffrey). This seal matrix bears a reasonably clear inscription describing its ownershop, around a central, semi-abstract design of Fleur-de-Lys surrounded by four dots. The fleur-de-lys – a stylised lily – was a popular design and was a common decorative device in the Middle Ages.
