
An ancient Medieval Romanesque bronze openwork Lion Mount
Romanesque rectangular openwork belt mount with engraved detailing; rivet hole to each corner. Possibly used as a decorative fitting on a strap, harness, or garment. The design depicts a stylized lion in profile, a common motif in Romanesque art symbolizing strength, vigilance, and nobility. Such mounts were worn by knights, officials, or high-status individuals as both decorative and symbolic items.
