PRE-VIKING GERMANIC (ANGLO SAXON) GOLD BRACTEATE WITH CROSS AND ODIN MASKS / FOR SALE



Gold repoussé bracteate pendant with an equal-armed cross, on each arm, is an Odin face-mask with beard and mustache, facing the center, which contains a quatrefoil shield-knot. The spaces between the arms each have a two-strand interlace triquetra.

A similar piece is found in Kent.

Date: Migration period, Anglo Saxon, 5th – 6th century AD
