Nike (Goddess of Victory) appears widely on Roman coins, jewellery, architecture, and other arts, and is often depicted with or in a chariot. Nike was the personification of Victory, and many people wore her likeness on jewellery to ensure success. Such rings were particularly popular in the military, where Victory was praised for battle successes.
